Accessibility

Accessibility is when the needs of people with disabilities are specifically considered, and products, services, and facilities are built or modified so that they can be used by people of all abilities.

The Office of Inclusive Design (OID) is a new ASUW office dedicated to making the University of Washington a more inclusive and accessible place for all students. The OID provide event consultation services, educational resources, and funding to ASUW Entities and RSOs who are looking to make their events and office practices more inclusive. See the list of educational resources created by the OID on the right side bar menu.

On the ASUW OID website you can find additional educational resources on how to make your events and spaces more inclusive for all nontraditional students (disabled students, student parents, international students, commuter students, ESL students, etc.) Email asuwoid@uw.edu with any questions. For inclusive event consultation services, email asuwoid1@uw.edu.
