Join the SDC and the D Center in welcoming Dr. Margaret Price, author of “Mad at School: Rhetorics of Mental Disability and Academic Life”, and associate professor of English at Ohio State University, to our (virtual) campus! Our event will be hosted by UW Disability Studies Affiliate and Mad/Mentally Ill, Chronically Ill Activist- Ashley Cowan D’Ambrosio, who will lead an interview with Dr. Price, to explore the current landscape in Higher Education for students and faculty with mental illness.

Dr. Margaret Price (she/her/hers) is an associate professor of English at Ohio State University, and author of “Mad at School: Rhetorics of Mental Disability and Academic Life”, winner of the Outstanding Book Award from CCCC. She is now at work on a survey and interview study of disabled faculty and the politics of disclosure in higher education, and is working on a book about crip spacetime. She is an avid knitter and inline skater, and is usually accompanied by her dog Ivy.
